As a (relatively) new mama, the craving for solid advice and pearls of wisdom has been one comparable to wanting that fourth taco when you are very pregnant. Insatiable. I researched and read before birth, which really paid off, but bringing our child home the first night, and learning the ropes for the first weeks, months, and (let’s be honest) years takes a village!
This village is vital. It is our closest friends, family, quite frankly YouTube and social media, books, conversations with onlooking grandmothers in Target, and most importantly the Holy Spirit working in us, transforming us into mothers perfectly suited for our children. Hence this small but mighty corner of the internet where I share my mothering and homemaking, all in the context of honoring the Lord with the gifts which are our children and humming households.
Some of my favorite things include my latest and greatest cleaning product discoveries and routines, any knock-your-carb-socks-off bread recipe I have on repeat, or hilarious and occasionally maddening toddler tendencies which teach me something new daily. You will find all of these topics and more covered here. There is a little something for any mom who finds herself in the throes of youthful children and sweetly messy homes.
God tells us our children are a heritage of His and a reward! Our culture does not tell us this, in fact, it will prescribe the opposite 1,001 ways to distract our children away from bothering us to let someone else more qualified teach and discipline them. What a huge loss and low blow! Mothers (and fathers for that matter) are the two most influential people in growing a child into adulthood. By choosing intentionality in our homes, we can raise the generation on purpose in God’s design. Because mamas are made for mothering.
All of the tidbits, tricks, tips, and wild trying times are game for this blog. I dreamt of finding a resource chock full of motherhood gold when I first became a mama. That is why I feel such joy in resourcing made for mothering for you! Share it, challenge it, engage with it, but most of all, pray about it. In a nutshell, everything changes quickly in motherhood. Aim to be your best for your children and ask the Lord for wisdom daily. He delivers on that promise.
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
